Three things help establish--for me anyway--Moleskines cachet. One is its pronunciation: NOT mole-skin. Next is the fact Vincent Van Gogh and Bruce Chatwin both used it. The third is its seeming scarcity. If you don't pounce upon the first copy you find in autumn, you may have to scramble the entire winter to find another. I almost panicked in January, when I could not find the journal--even at the local monster B&N. Moleskine US saved my skin, so to speak. The company not only carries a large line of Moleskine, it wastes no time getting it delivered. Two days after I found Moleskine online and ordered my 2007 journal, it was in my mail box. I had been looking for a more professional looking planner so I decided to try this brand after getting a free sample of an accordion file folder. I ordered the hard cover large weekly planner.I was very impressed with how fast the shipment came. I ordered it on Thursday before New Years Eve and it arrived Saturday morning. The weekly planner has a sophisticated look to it that I appreciate very much. It is organized well and I like the removable address book. I also like the ribbon that acts as a bookmark and the elastic closure that keeps the planner closed. The size is just right because I can keep it in my purse yet I can still write in it without feeling like Im writing microscopically. I wish the monthly section could be read more easily and that there were different country versions so that holidays could be printed in the planners.
